Here is a cute free crochet pattern that takes no time to whip up and makes a great handmade gift.  The tie allows you to adjust the size to fit anyone with any hairstyle.  Make them in different colors to go with all of your outfits!  This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download here.

Easy & Cute Crocheted Headband
One size fits most.
Supplies:
Worsted Weight Yarn-Less than one skein.  I used Caron Simply Soft but any will do.
Size K crochet hook
Less than an hour
Terminology:
ch-chain
sk-skip
sl st-slip stitch
sc-single crochet
hdc-half double crochet
rem-remaining
RS-right side
rep-repeat
yo-yarn over
Instructions:
Ch 65.
Row 1-Skip 1st ch, sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in next 6 ch. 1 sc in next 5 ch.  1 hdc in next 40 ch. 1 sc in next 5 ch.  Sl st in rem 7 ch.  RS.
Row 2-Ch 1, turn.  Sl st in back loop of next 7 sl st. 1 sc in next 5 sc. 1 hdc in next 40 hdc.  1 sc in next 5 sc.  1 sl st in next 7 sl st.
Rows 3-5-Rep Row 2.  Do not finish off.
Ties-Continuing on RS, ch 2 *yo, insert hook into end of Row 3, draw up loop, yo, draw thru 2, rep from * but in end of Row 1. Yo, draw thru all loops on hook. Ch 20 for tie.  Finish off.
On other end and with RS facing, join with sl st to first corner of Row 1.  Ch 2.  Rep from * to * in end of Row 3 and again in Row 5.  YO, draw thru all loops on hook.  Ch 20 for tie.  Finish off.
